What is the best International News channel or site that you use?

May 6th, 2009 | by admin |

American news channels leave quite a lot out of the picture when it comes to world news. I can always find out which dog goes missing in my neighborhood, but I don't get much about crises around the world. I do watch BBC but I'm not always very satisfied with it.

I often watch Aljezera (not sure of spelling). It is based in the middle east and gives, in my view, a better balance. It is not Arab propogande. Its views and reporting are quite objective. The presenters and reporters are from all over the world. Try it. Would love to know what you think of it.

Watch a few of them - CNN, BBC and Al Jazeera to understand views from different angles. No one channel is totally impartial.

I listen to several. BBC, Voice of America, China Radio International, Radio Australia and Voice of Russia to name a few. The only TV news I've watched lately is the English language TV news from Jerusalem which is broadcast at 1600 GMT or 1500 GMT (on the Sabbath). I usually download it via the Israel Broadcasting Authority web site about 1700 GMT. The link below is to their web site.
