What is the least appropriate film or TV programme you have seen on in-flight entertainment?

On a Heathrow to Hong Kong flight I was surprised to see the British ’70s sitcom "Mind Your Language" on the in-flight entertainment. This was set in a English Language evening class and the students were all foreign stereotypes. I thought this was a little odd to find on an international flight.

remake of Jackal with Bruce Willis–before indiivifial screens; pretty violent

Being in Norway I can`t help you when it comes to TV news… But I can give you a list of internet sites that one of my professors recommended to us when I was taking my bachelor degree in political science.

The class we got this list from was: Power, politics and the media
We were encouraged and expected to read international publications regurlaly. So he gave us an incomplete list of web based news sources that are free(though may require registration)

Would Delta Airlines be a good airline to use for international flights from JFK?

I’ve heard Delta’s international flights like to Europe are good. They offer lots of movies and entertainment options, have decent meals, and have good service. Is this true?

I flew Delta to Europe a few years ago and I didn’t have any problems. The food was good–the flight back was an afternoon flight and I remember the lunch as being surprisingly good for airplane food. I think that Delta now has these personal entertainment screens with on-demand movies, trivia, music, etc. These tv aren’t on every Delta aircraft, but I think they are on all the larger aricraft used for transatlantic flights, like the 767-400. Here is a website that has reviews of almost every major airline.

What is a good international news story, i need one for a current event story tomorrow!?

by international news i just mean outside the U.S.

You can talk about Obama in Beijing, and how Obama is taking China’s communist country’s ideas and putting them into America so soon we’ll live in a socialist, dictator-led country.

Or you can also talk about the fall of the Berlin Wall and how Obama didn’t even go to that ceremony.

Why are international media entertainment and media companies extending to India?

India’s a third world country as we all know(even thought it has a sharp economy) , but why are businesses such as Walt Disney, Condé Nast, MTV and even kids stuff like nickleodeon all have offices in india and indian editions of things? thought majority of indians were poor, and whats more why are they in the english language when the majority of indians speak hindi.

i’m asking coz i study sociology n economics, but i still cant understand this lol

Cheers People
but why are things like Vogue India, Disney Indian and Cartoon network India all in the english language?
i am not ignorant, i’m actually indian lol, but i study economics n jus curious why these companies set up in a poor country
oh my daayyys i was born n bred n the uk, even though i’m indian, if companies set up in india then y dnt they set up in nigeria too? n if a country like china has the same media, why aint it all in english like it is in india?

they are still poor because these companies do not have to pay them as well as they do in the states, which is why outsourcing is popular among all countries businesses.. also, as far as just entertainment is concerned Bollywood, India’s hollywood, is very popular and second most producer of movies next to America.

What are the best sources for international news?

I’ve been watching CNN, MSNBC, Fox News and those alike and have become more and more interested in what’s going on around the world. But after a while I’ve found I’m hearing the same stories over and over. I want to know more than the top 2 major headlines.

Any advice on a specific online newspaper or what ever else is out there?

BBC

Does British Airways have a good selection of entertainment while on an international flight?

Also do you know if they serve you free meals because my flight is around 8 hours long? Any other advice about the airline is much appreciated.

Yes, they do, and if you type in your travel class & route in the link below you will see the entertainment on offer for your trip -

If i am living in Canada would Obama’s health care reform be international news? eventhough it wouldn’t affect us?

no, international news is basically local stuff, like your small-town newspaper or student newspaper etc.

International Jobs in entertainment management or medicine?

I’m entering sophomore year of high school, and I need a little (okay, A LOT) of insight on what I want to do when I grow up, and international jobs really interest me, preferably in entertainment industry management (whether it be talent management, or working for an entertainment based company or something else of the kind.. I’m really interested in marketing and helping with promoting or something like that…esp. asian industries) or medicine … I know, two total opposite jobs, and i don’t know where to start, if you have experience like this, can you tell me what it’s like what what you did to get to where you are now?

You’ll have many more opportunities as a physician or nurse.

What are some good international news network sites?

Some that lack the crap that most other news networks consider as news worthy.

A few more like Newsvine,Al Jazeera, BBC. Or even ones that you think might be better than these.

Thanks.

We dont get CNN International in the U.S. I dont recommend any American cable channels or news sites and I include the BBC from Washington because it is not reported fairly without censorship.
